So I've watched this new trailer and wanted to review it in some sort of way.

As I must say I'm following news from this movie ever since the first movie came out (2006).
I'm a really big fan of Silent hill I've played the first one right when it came out in 1999 when I was 8 years old, it left me very shocked and it would take some several years to pick up all the courage and skills to play it out. My father helped me with playing it for when the game became to intense. After finishing SH1, SH2,3 and 4 were already released so I bought the collection box. (most games after sh4 (from wich I played origins, homecoming, Shattered Memories, downpour and the arcade game) don't count for me as part of the real series)

So as you can see, Silent Hill has some big values in my life's history and art, so if there's something said or done about Silent Hill, I take it very personnel.

The first information I found about sh revelations was the fact that they were planning to make a sequel from the first movie, but after some time they announced that the plans were canceled cause the writer had a car accident from which I don't remember the whole story.

Later on Michael J. Bassett  www.imdb.com/name/nm1068186/ was announced to be the writer/director of the sequel.
I've seen some other works of M. Basset which are pretty good, such as Solomon Kane and Deathwatch.
The first photo's that came online of silent hill revelations were some set photos' from the town and some props, and later there came some photo's of the carnival.
Though these pictures looked ok, they didn't reveal much about the over look of the movie except that pyramid head was playing in this movie as well.
Recently there was a short clip released featuring nurses.
Whit this information i was first kind of disappointed  cause I feared for an abuse of pyramid head and nurses.

Today I watched the trailer:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMWrZm…;
And I must say from the looks of it they did a good job.
I can hear many other fans saying stuff like: that's not how it went in the game, they did this and that wrong,...

But relax, its a movie adaptation of SH3 and a sequel to the first movie. It's not wrong to change elements of the story or visual aspects or even fundamental facts. If you want SH3 in a movie format go watch the walkthrough.
The movie is made for a new audience, and the fanbase of the first movie as well as the silent hill game fans. In order to please these 3 groups you have to make changes.

As What I have to say about the trailer itself:
though it looked like a teenage horror movie the first minute, it looks like it really has a great silent hill feeling. It revolves more about the cult from the first movie, but hey, Silent Hill 3 also revolves around this "cult", in SH1 "the cult" was also involved but not that much in the foreground, SH2 had some hints to it but no direct links to persons in this "cult".
The otherworld as seen in the trailer had much fire to give it a hellish look and is quite different from the first film.
There are also many light elements in this world like flickering lights, stepping away from the original only one light coming from a flashlight.
What I remarked was that this world looks much more like the hospital scene from Jacob's ladder: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXXbIO…;
which in its way was a great inspiration for the SH series, so I must say that the director really knows for a big part what silent hill is about.

I would say much more things about what I'd think about this and other stuff, but since this post is already this long I shall leave it by this.

i watched silent hill revelation last saturday and personally i thought it was pretty damn good. i'm a huge fan of the series as well and i think it followed silent hill 3's story quite well. Adelaide Clemens played heather's character very well in my opinion. she had both her look and personality that she had in the game
